A showpiece for the client, a paper merchant, the calendar is an annual corporate gift that serves as a showcase for some of their product. As a system to measure time, the calendar imposes an order on time and space. The traditional grid-like calendar design, suggests time marches forward at a consistent rhythm. Yet the human experience of time is hardly uniform as a traditional calendar might suggest. Our design for the 2018 RJ Paper Calendar features a different typographic experience for the user every month.
As a showpiece for a paper merchant, the meta-quality of the material is revealed by us taking a quiet and minimal approach to design.
The 365 days of a year rarely move in the monotonous rhythm we see in the calendar. Our design features a different typographic experience for the user each month.
