Retail Experience Design
Terrainware
A purveyor of outdoor goods in a heavily urbanised city, the store offers city dwellers a pathway to accessing nature and the outdoors. The retail experience design for Terrainware drew its inspiration from a central contradiction—stepping inside to be outdoors. Elsewhere, the design language from the merchandise informs and extends into other areas of the physical space.
Great retail design isn’t just about a well-curated display or attractive visual merchandising; it’s about the experience that you create using the various components of your store.

Inspired by camping tents we had the fitting rooms made by local truck canopy makers.
The contradiction of having to step ‘into’ the ‘outdoors’ in a highly urban environment like Singapore. The floor is lined in loose gravel.
