Editorial Design
Horses. Hippotherapy. Heroes.
RDA Singapore provides equine-assisted therapy—also known as hippotherapy—to children and adults with physical and mental disabilities. The association has empowered over 6000 beneficiaries since 1982. For its 35th anniversary celebration and fundraising gala, a commemorative publication was commissioned to honour the service offered by the humble animals.
The publication is beautifully produced in A3 print, with each book sitting in its own case. Carrying through the photographer’s selection of vibrant backdrops for each animal, the backdrops were upcycled into 10 variations of the book cover.
Expressing each animal’s distinct personalities and individual histories, these bodily details reveal beauty and strength from the horses’ past lives as race horses, polo ponies, riding school horses and their current special roles—as therapy horses.
